Off-season is here...

Well it is that time again.  But this time it has a much different feel to it.  This is my first off-season as a college soccer player, unlike my other off-seasons were it was all about lifting at 6am and kicking on my own.  This year I have someone to push me, someone who cares if I make it or not.

Its funny to think, when I was in high school Logan and I didn't know each other personally, but some how we hated each other.  We had never talk or even met, but the competitive side of both of us just mad it that way.

Now, five years later, he is my keeper coach.  And having an amazing college career himself, is now trying me during this off-season in hopes that I will reach my full potential.  I have a long way to go, but I feel I have a chance with Logan leading me.  I know, if stay with what he is getting me to do, come next season I will be a force to be dealt with.

However, that day is far away and I have A LOT to do before I'm to that point.  Lets just hope I can make it and help these team, my new family, further then they have ever gone.

Well...Its not a loss

I don't have a lot to say about this game, since I didn't get the start.  But we tied 0-0 and that is better then another loss.

Oh and one last thing...Vanguard has the WORST field I have ever seen.

Next game: Fresno Pacific at CBU, Sat. Oct. 10th at 2:30pm

Another Day, Another Loss...

Well, I don't really have much to say about last Saturday's game at Master's.  We played well, again, and still couldn't find a way to score.  I had an o.k. game but didn't feel I was at my best, although I did have a few good saves that kept us in the game.  They took the lead with 4 minutes before the first half on a play that was just lame.  It was one of those plays where once it happens all you can say is "what the heck?!"

Well, its over now and its time to move on and get ready for the next game.  Vanguard on Wednesday.

This is a funny game...

The thing that makes this game great is also the thing that makes it heart breaking.  We had another loss yesterday, 0-1 against Biola.  It was hard because we played our best game all season, but the game is not fair and the team that dominates is not the team that always wins.  As the season goes on, we will find the back of the net.  But for now we need to regroup and get ready for our next game this Saturday against Masters.

As for me, I played well.  i felt I was strong in my box and I did get a few chances to get into people (sorry TG).  It was a feeling I haven't had for a longtime and from the way my body feels today, I'm not use to it (haha).  We were able to hold them off until the 86th (funny how that's the number) but they got the go ahead goal with 4min left to go and that was all she wrote.

But it's in the past now and its time to get our bodies and minds ready for Masters.

A Rough Night...

Well it wasn't the best game to watch but just like every game, it's not the end of the world.  We lost Saturday night 0-3 to Westmont. I didn't get the start but I sat on the bench thinking of things I could do so I can be better for my team.  I would be lying if I said I wasn't mad I didn't get the start, but in sports you can only focus on the things you can control.

We play again, at home, tomorrow afternoon (Sep. 30th) at 4pm vs. Biola.  It will be nice to have a home game again since it has been over a month since our last one.  It will also be my first start at home in my, still young, soccer career.  I hope if you can make you, you do and stay after to say hello.

Next time (when I play) I'll make sure to give an more in-depth review on the game.

First Soccer Press!

Last week, Jim Alexander, interviewed me for almost 45min.  It was the first press i have gotten since joining the CBU soccer team.  It was a very very long interview but he really did take the time to hear the whole story and for that I will give him an interview anytime he asked for one.

I would be lying if I said doing this interview didn't make me miss the media boys in Hawaii like Stephen, but it is time for the next guy and so far so good.

Here are the 5 links...
Cal Baptist goalkeeper trumps kicking in Hawaii

Dan Kelly: Football took 'toll on my spirit'

Kelly: Hawaii fans great, but the coach ...

Kelly: It's nice to be pushed to perform

Kelly: Paradise just too tempting for some players

"Catching up with Dan Kelly"

One thing I missed the most from Hawaii are the men and women in the media.  From John Veneri to Stephen Tsai, I just miss them all.  But a few months ago John called me and interviewed me about my new life in the soccer world.  So here it is, I hope you enjoy it!
